Online crack for Real Estate Agents

Oh boy, there goes my productivity…..

So I just found a new website that is put together quite intelligently.  It’s kind of like a myspace or friendster for people in the Real Estate industry.  Hence why I have dubbed it online crack, extreemly addictive.

It’s a networking site for Real Estate professionals, and for those of you who regularly read the Carnival of Real Estate posts, you might recognize the co-founder Matt Heaton as #10 from the property grunt edition, the guy with too much time on his hands.

He might have too much time on his hands, but at least he’s putting the time to good use.  Yeah, there’s the timewasting part of the site, viewing other peoples profiles and stuff.  However the forums are the part that I find most beneficial.  People have already posted some insightfull tips on subjects like guerilla marketing, lead generation, etc.  And best of all,  it’s a lot easier asking  a stupid RE question to someone in the business, when it’s not in person.

It’s also pretty interesting from a SEO perspective. (Search Engine Optimization - aka showing up good in google).  They’ve managed a point system for doing certain things.  You get points for: adding a blog entry, inviting others into the system, updating your own profile, etc.  So the users get points that are really only worth bragging rights and increased exposure on this site, and the website gets constant fresh new content and new users because of the self interest of the users… it’s freaking genious!!

So I signed up, and they give you some points for just signing up… first ones free type attitude, and I’m hooked.

You also get 200 points for adding a link to their site, but 300 points for this one:

God I love having a blog, and 300 points…… I like the blog more.
